It looks like your temp directory is pointed to directly below your
installation directory. Most setups will either be /tmp in a *nix setup
or c://temp (or c://windows//temp) in Windows. This directory must be
accessible to all users and is very dangerous to put in the world
readable web directory. Also, the latest version should not have the
edit variable bug.

Are you using folders or the db for image storage?
If folders make sure that the /images folder is writable by the web
server. I actually set ownership of the folders to something like
pat:apache and permissions to 664 on images/listings and images/agents.
